Go all out with some homemade chips! I love a sweet potato chip but classic spuds with some rosemary are also fabulous.

Ingredients

  • 500g pork mince

  • 40g gluten-free breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp dried sage

  • 1 dessert apple, peeled and grated

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup

  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients, into a bowl with a good pinch of salt and black pepper.

  2. Start stirring with a spoon then finish with your hands to ensure everything is well mixed together.

  3. Divide the mixture into five and form into burger patties.

  4. Place the burgers under the grill on a medium heat for about 10 minutes until nicely browned. Turn over to the other side and repeat.

  5. Serve the burgers in a gluten-free bun with lettuce, sliced tomato and sauce of your choice – mustard, ketchup and mayo are all good.
